## A clear apology does not defend itself

Say what you did, acknowledge the effect, and accept that the other person may need time or distance. Do not ask them to comfort you.

If direct contact would be unsafe or harmful, seek advice from a wise and qualified person before acting.

## Receiving grace includes change

Shame says you must hide forever. Grace lets you face the truth and begin a different practice.

Repeated or serious harm may need professional support, safeguarding, treatment, or formal accountability.
